Compression Textiles
Certification Course
Course Description:
Compression textiles are defined as textile materials and products used primarily to insert pressure on the surface of needed body parts to compress underlying tissues. Textile based compression therapy is used in range of applications i.e. enhanced proprioception, athletes and sport recovery, compression spacesuit, and in management of chronic disease. The course will cover the science behind compression devices (models), materials properties and testing procedures, design and structure of a wide range of compression modalities, selection of compression devices, and challenges in applying compression for various applications. By the end of the course, the learner will be able to comprehend the material-structure-design of textile-based compression devices, and vast scope of compression textiles in diverse applications.
Intended Audience:
Undergraduate and postgraduate students of clothing and textile engineering/technology, fashion technology, material science etc.
Compression product manufacturers, product development professionals, textile scientist and technologist, textiles and sports academic professionals, medical practitioners – Phlebologist, athletes, sports people, trainers.
